Since his acting career took off, Tommy Lee Jones has kept working in front and behind the camera, for the big screen, and in TV roles.

As a youngster, Tommy Lee Jones successfully drove himself hard to win scholarships for his education and was able to attend the prestigious prep boarding school for boys in Dallas, St. Mark’s School of Texas. He went to Harvard also on a scholarship, where he graduated cum laude in 1969 and received a B.A. in English Literature. His roommate was a future Vice President, Al Gore, with whom he remains friends.

He has charmed the entertainment industry with his acting performances, his screenwriting skills, and as a director for several projects. He is most famous for delivering his portrayal of the characters in a flinty, inscrutable and deadpan manner.
