Tyrod Taylor studied at Hampton High School in Hampton, Virginia. During his time there, he played several sports and was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. As a football player, he helped lead the team as a quarterback as well as became the team’s kick returner and safety. He led the team to a 34–4 record during his four years as a starter as well as accumulated 7,690 yards of offense and scored 100 total touchdowns. Moreover, he passed for 5,144 yards and 44 touchdowns while rushing for 2,546 yards and 56 touchdowns. He graduated in 2007.
