- Growing up, she aspired to become an actor but made her debut as a singer.
- When she was a high school student, Uee was a swimmer and competed in the Korean National Sports Festival.
- She was previously a member of the girl group Five Girls. The group was under Good Entertainment but disbanded even before its debut due to the company’s financial struggles.
- In April 2009, Uee became a member of the girl group After School. Formed by Pledis Entertainment, the group’s discography consists of many albums and tracks such as Dress to Kill, Virgin, Playgirlz, Because of You, Bang!, New Schoolgirl, Flashback, Blue, Red, First Love, Because of You (너 때문에), In The Night Sky (밤 하늘에), Shampoo, Rambling Girls, Heaven, Love Love Love, First Love (첫사랑), Shh, and Because of You.
