  1. He spent his childhood year growing up in Plymouth, Florida.
  2. He was raised by a single mother.
  3. Warren Sapp was a two-sport athlete in high school and in addition to football, he also played on the basketball team as a power forward.
  4. In the 1995 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the 12th overall in the first round.
  5. He was named to the Florida High School Association All-Century Team (comprising the top 33 players in a hundred years of high school football in his home state) in 2007.
  6. Along with former football player Devin Bush and a developer, Warren Sapp formed an Urban Solutions Group in 2006 in order to construct low-income housing in Fort Pierce, Florida. Subsequently, the PNC Bank loaned the group money. However, the project was unable to succeed as the real estate market tanked by the year 2008.
  7. On March 4, 2008, he officially retired from football.
  8. He served as a studio analyst for Inside the NFL on Showtime from 2008 to 2011.
  9. Warren Sapp participated in the 7th season of the dance reality competition show Dancing With The Stars in 2008 and partnered with professional dancer Kym Johnson. The duo made it to the finals and was eventually named runner-up of season 7.
  10. On March 16, 2009, he debuted as a stand-up comedian at the Comedy Central Roast of Larry the Cable Guy.
  11. He was arrested in South Florida and charged with domestic battery on February 7, 2010. The charges were later dropped.
