Zion Williamson is an American professional basketball player who began representing the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA (National Basketball Association) in 2019. A prodigious talent, Zion was earmarked as a future star in his schooldays itself. He had led his high school team to 3 successive state championships and in his senior year (2018), was named ‘South Carolina Mr. Basketball’ and a ‘McDonald’s All-American’. His freshman year at university (2019) was even more stellar as he won several awards including the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) ‘Player of the Year’, ‘Consensus National College Player of the Year’, the Wayman Tisdale Award, and the Karl Malone Award. He was also named in the ‘ACC All-Freshman Team’ and the ‘First-Team All-ACC‘.
