Jimmy Donaldson’s Facts

He named himself MrBeast6000 as a kid, and the “6000” came from a random suffix he thought sounded cool. He dropped it years later.
Before he was famous, he ran a channel analyzing other YouTubers’ view counts and algorithms — essentially studying the platform as a subject.
His January 2023 video funding cataract surgeries for 1,000 blind people drew both praise and criticism, with some arguing it highlighted gaps in healthcare access rather than solving them.
He’s turned down acquisition offers for his company reportedly valued in the billions, telling interviewers he’d rather keep building.
He deliberately stayed in Greenville, North Carolina, employing hundreds of local staff across warehouses and production spaces.
He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease as a teenager and has discussed how it shaped his eating habits and energy levels.
In 2024 he faced scrutiny over Beast Games production conditions, with contestants filing a lawsuit; Amazon and his team disputed the characterizations.
