Bianca Andreescu is a Canadian professional tennis player who had reached a career-high singles ranking of no. 5, ranked by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on September 9, 2019. Since her WTA debut in 2017, she has always been eyed as one of the strongest and most competent players to represent Canada. At the time of her debut, she advanced to the semifinals in singles and won the doubles title with her mate, Carson Branstine. In 2015, she made her ITF debut and won both the singles and doubles titles at the Grade-2 tournament in La Paz. She went on to win her 3rd junior doubles title 2 weeks later at the Grade-2 tournament in Cordoba. Following a series of victories, she was later qualified for her first junior Grand Slam but was defeated in the first round of the girls’ singles tournament by the event runner-up, Anna Kalinskaya. During her first professional tournament in Gatineau, she advanced to the finals with wins over no. 429 Elizabeth Halbauer, no. 288 Barbora Štefková, no. 206 Shuko Aoyama, and no. 275 Victoria Rodríguez. Upon reaching the final round, Andreescu was defeated by no. 155 Alexa Glatch.

Andreescu started 2018 quite off her usual powerful beginnings during matches as she acquired 2 consecutive losses in matches against Luksika Kumkhum. She made a successful comeback in 2019 with multiple winning streaks and titles won on top of her overall outstanding records since her professional debut in 2017. She competed at the ASB Classic in Aukland and was qualified for the main draw, defeating the first seed Caroline Wozniacki, the 6th seed Venus Williams, and the third seed Hsieh Su-wei, which eventually led her to her first WTA singles final for the year during which she ended as the runner-up to the defending champion and second seed Julia Görges. In January 2019, she won her first WTA 125K title at Newport Beach and the win placed her to a career-high ranking of no. 28. Andreescu also passed Eugenie Bouchard after she was hailed as Canada’s top-ranked player.

Personal Trainer

Bianca Andreescu surely has something serious in her checklist when it comes to keeping her body fit and healthy. She probably has been training immensely since she started her a career in tennis at a young age which means she may have been following the same strict workout routines and diet. In a report, Edmonton tennis coach Lan Yao-Gallop recalled training the young Bianca when she was only 12 years old. According to her, Bianca was a “brave” and aggressive player who demonstrates power without waiting for her opponents to make mistakes.

Seeing all the success in Bianca’s career as a professional tennis player, who has taken a spot in the sports industry and is being recognized as one of Canada’s best players, Yao-Gallop said that all their practices, drills, early morning grinds, and fitness sessions that shaped Andreescu’s technique and footwork had all paid off. On Bianca’s Instagram, she can be seen randomly posting video snippets of her workout at the gym. In July 2019, she posted a short video snippet where she can be seen demonstrating her lower body workout routine in the form of squats.
