Britney Manson Facts
- A whimsical kid, Britney started modeling when she was about 12 years old. Her modeling journey began when she went backstage during a runway fashion show (being held at a local shopping mall) and enquired if she could work with them.
- Impressed by her enthusiasm, the show’s organizers called her back the following week. Over the next few years, she walked in fashion shows in countries like Russia and China – even though she had not been signed up by any major modeling agency.
- A trans woman, she started her gender transition journey when she was about 15 years old. Due to this, she had to endure severe bullying from her schoolmates and teachers. Although this trauma led Britney to attempt suicide thrice, she found succor in her modeling career. When she changed her gender, she started using the name Nika Kraush. Later, she became known as Britney Manson.
- She came into the international spotlight in 2022 when she released a couple of singles -titled Everyone (I’m Stuck) and Mode-L. The latter was a song that highlighted the dark side of the fashion industry. Although inspired by her own experience, the track was dedicated to one of her role models – Andreja Pejić, an Australian model and actress who came out as a trans woman in 2013.
- In November 2022, Britney posted a video of her crossing the street as a model on her newly created TikTok account. The video gained more than 10 million views within the next few hours.
- She soon started a video series called Walking Until I Get Noticed by a Model Agency wherein she performed runway walks in public places. This was a sort of tongue-in-cheek response to rejections from modeling agencies.
- Following the positive response to this series, Britney started posting tutorials on TikTok – explaining how to walk like renowned supermodels, including Naomi Campbell, Shalom Harlow, and Kendall Jenner. A few weeks later, she was signed up by Elite Models NYC.
- In August 2023, she released another single titled Fashion. The following month, it debuted at number 41 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Published weekly by Billboard (an international music and entertainment magazine) since January 2013, it ranks the most popular dance and electronic songs in the United States.
