Carl Icahn is an American financier and businessperson who is the founder of Icahn Enterprises, a public company and diversified conglomerate holding company based in Sunny Isles Beach. He has also served as a controlling shareholder of Icahn Enterprises. One of the first activist shareholders, he is credited with making that investment strategy mainstream for hedge funds. Regarded by many as one of the most successful hedge fund managers of all time and one of the greatest investors on Wall Street, he developed a reputation as a “corporate raider” in the 1980s after profiting from the hostile takeover and asset stripping of Trans World Airlines.

They got married in March 1979 and have 2 children – a son named Brett Icahn (b. August 19, 1979) (a businessperson, investor, and philanthropist) and a daughter named Michelle Celia Icahn Nevin. Liba Trejbal filed for divorce from Carl in October 1993 as well as sued to invalidate the prenuptial agreement, claiming she signed it under duress due to the pregnancy.
