Danneel Ackles is an American actress and model who is best known for playing Shannon McBain in the soap opera One Life to Live (1999–2004), Rachel Gatina in the drama TV series One Tree Hill (2005–2010), the lead role of Sara Maxwell in the sitcom Friends with Benefits (2011), and the recurring role of Sister Jo/Anael in the fantasy TV series Supernatural (2018-2020). She is also well recognized for her portrayal of the character of Vanessa Fanning in the Harold & Kumar movie franchise – Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay (2008), Harold & Kumar Go to Amsterdam (2008), and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas (2011).

- Danneel’s birth name is Elta Danneel Graul and her first name was given to her as a tribute to her great-grandmother. She, however, decide to use Danneel, her middle name, as her screen name and it was inspired partly by Danneel Street in New Orleans. Until 2012, she used to be credited as Danneel Harris, after which she adopted her husband’s surname, Ackles, as her screen surname.
- Before landing acting roles in TV series, she had worked as a model for companies such as Big S*xy Hair and Juicy Jeans. She had, in fact, moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in modeling, not acting.
- In November 2006, she was featured on the cover of the US edition of Maxim magazine. The following year, in 2007, she was placed at number 62 in Maxim‘s ‘Hot 100’ list for that year and then 45th in 2008. She was also featured on the cover of the US edition of American Cheerleader Magazine in April 2009.
