- The actor auditioned to play the role of an obese character named Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) in the early 2000s but got rejected for the role because the makers of the movie thought he had too much belly fat and did not have the fitness to carry a heavy bodysuit of fake fat. - David performed short duration high-intensity cardio to torch fat which would allow greater visibility of his newly developed muscle mass.

- The actor developed an attraction towards acting at the age of 5 and started participating in theatrical productions seriously at the age of 14.
- He confessed that he had a crush on Winona Ryder when he was in high school.
- During his childhood, David saw Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) about 13 times in the theatre.
- He claimed he always felt like a bit of a misfit since early childhood and teen years and acting was the only way he could understand and empathize with unpredictable human nature.
