  1. Hugh Laurie is an avid motorcyclist and apart from the thrill of flying on a good bike, he prefers a motorcycle because he loves the anonymity a motorcycle helmet provides.
  2. He got his first motorcycle at the age of 16. It was a present from his dad. Soon after, he had an accident, which put him in a wheelchair for weeks.
  3. In his college days, he was very good at rowing and in 1977, even managed to win National Junior Championship for rowing (coxed pair).
  4. In 1977, Laurie and his rowing partner were selected to compete for England at the World Junior Championship where they managed to grab the 4th spot.
  5. He was selected to portray Perry White in the action movie, Superman Returns (2006). However, as he had a very tight work schedule due to his involvement in House, he had to back away from the project.
