He proposed to Laurene on New Year’s Day in 1990 with a bunch of freshly picked wildflowers. On March 18, 1991, the couple got married in a Buddhist Ceremony held at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park, California. At the end of the ceremony, they went for a hike.
