Michelle Wie is an American professional golfer who began competing in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour in 2009. A child prodigy, she had turned professional just before her 16th birthday. Her best performances at the majors include the title triumph at the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open and 2nd-place finishes at the 2005 Women’s PGA Championship and the 2014 ANA Inspiration event. She has also won the 2009 Lorena Ochoa Invitational, the 2010 CN Canadian Women’s Open, the 2014 LPGA Lotte Championship, and the 2018 HSBC Women’s World Championship. In team events, representing the United States, she has been a member of the winning team at the Solheim Cup (2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017) and the International Crown (2018).
