- She was raised in Gurugram and spent her college days in Delhi.
- She has recollected that she had been excellent at studies, particularly in Maths and Physics, but she was never a desk job person. She was always eager to explore new things and wanted to visit many places.
- Ritu has revealed that it had been far from easy, being ambitious. Her relatives would keep suggesting that she should get married before she got over-educated, but she had been blessed to have parents who continued to work hard so that they could send her to school. While she was in school, a friend had encouraged her to try becoming a pilot, that had motivated her so much that it became the starting point of her successful career.
- Taneja has recalled having suggested to her father to spend the money he had saved for her marriage, on her education instead.
