S1mple Facts
- He had started playing the multiplayer first-person shooter video game Counter-Strike from the age of just 4 after he was introduced to the game by his older brother Alexey. He had bought Counter-Strike: Global Offensive immediately after its release in 2012 and had joined his first professional team a year later, in 2013.
- In January 2015, he was expelled from the primary membership of the Hellraisers team after he had made inflammatory comments about Germans.
- He had also earned an ESL wire ban for cheating around this time which too had hastened his exit from the team. This ban was extended to 2016 as he had tried to evade the original ban through underhand means.
- Later in 2015, he was signed by Flipsid3 Tactics, a US-based esports organization. However, he did not stay there too long after the team’s semi-final exit in the ESWC 2015 event. Although it was initially understood that he had departed the team due to the disappointment of the tournament exit, it was later revealed that his behavior with the team members and other players was a key factor in his exit from the team.
- He has been named the ‘Most Valuable Player’ (MVP) in several tournaments/events such as DreamHack Winter 2017, StarSeries Season 4 (2018), StarSeries Season 5 (2018), ESL One Cologne 2018, Dreamhack Masters Marseille 2018, CS: GO Asia Championships 2018, BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2018, StarSeries Season 7 (2019), IEM Katowice 2020, and BLAST Premier: Global Final 2020.
- S1mple was also named the EVP (Exceptionally Valuable Player) at events/tournaments such as FACEIT Major: London 2018, MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, ELS One Cologne 2016, and IEM Katowice 2019.
- He was once nominated in the category of ‘Best ESports Athlete’ at The Game Awards.
