  1. Sergej started his soccer journey with the youth team of the Portuguese club, Sporting CP. At that time, his father used to play for the club.
  2. In December 2012, he signed his first professional contract as he agreed to a 3-year deal with Vojvodina.
  3. In March 2014, he scored his first professional goal in a match against Spartak Subotica which ended in a 1-1 draw.
  4. The 2013-14 season proved to be his breakthrough season as he went on to make 13 league appearances. He also managed to score 3 goals in the league.
  5. In June 2014, he moved to Belgium as Genk reached a transfer deal with Vojvodina. The transfer fee wasn’t revealed to the public.
  6. In January 2015, he scored his first goal for Genk in a league match against KSC Lokeren. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
  7. In his only season with Genk, he managed to make 24 appearances in the league along with scoring 5 league goals.
  8. Lazio announced that they had signed Milinković-Savić from Genk in July 2015.
  9. Before he agreed to a move to Lazio, he nearly moved to Fiorentina. However, on the day he was supposed to sign a contract with the Viola, he broke down in tears and decided against the move.
  10. In September 2016, he scored his first professional goal for Lazio in the Europa League match against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk which ended in a 1-1 draw.
