Shiri Appleby Facts
- She began acting in TV advertisements from the age of 4. Her parents had also enrolled her for acting classes as they felt that she was too shy and introverted.
- Her name, in Hebrew, means, ‘song/poem of mine’.
- She was bitten by a dog when she was quite young and the event had caused her enough trauma to be wary of dogs all the time. To overcome her fear, she participated in an episode of the reality TV series Emergency Vets. She also overcame her phobia of snakes by holding a live one in the same episode.
- After making guest appearances in several TV shows in the late 1980s and the 1990s, she landed her breakthrough role as Liz Parker in the TV series Roswell in 1999. She had auditioned for the characters of Isabel and Maria but the showrunners felt that she fit the role of Liz Parker better.
- She was featured in the music video of the iconic Bon Jovi song titled It’s My Life (2000).
