- He left the film industry at the peak of his career in 1982, to follow in the spiritual path of leader Osho Rajneesh. Nevertheless, he made a successful comeback in 1987 with Insaaf starring Dimple Kapadia.
- Due to their striking resemblance, his brother Pramod Khanna played the role of Prajapati Pandey in Dabangg 3Â (starring Salman Khan) after Vinod’s death.
