Love for Eggs
The author of 11 books likes to have cooked or scrambled eggs with some light cheese and vegetables. She also eat hard-boiled eggs that are topped with salsa. She even keeps some hard-boiled eggs in the fridge and uses it as a snack throughout the week. A container of liquid egg whites is also her preferred food option that can be used for easy omelets and scrambles. This super-light protein is a must have staple in her diet.
A Yogurt Fan
The expert of guilt-free eating relies heavily on fat-free Greek yogurt as she keeps it in the fridge all the time. She adds everything from Chia seeds to nuts or even fruits to it. She often adds vanilla extract or Truvia to make it less tart but she can have it plain too.
Fruits are a Must
The successful fitness guru loves to have oranges, melons, grapes, watermelon and apples every day. She even has a piece of grab-n-go fruit in her bag to satisfy the hunger that bothers her in between the meals. This habit helps her to stay away from unhealthy and impulsive food options, she shared with People.
Preferred Snack Option
When Lisa feels like snacking on something, she depends on SeaSnax Chomperz as they aren’t flimsy seaweed sheets. They are backed with a rice-flour base that offers extra crunch. She also combines the sushi with sunomono (cucumber) salad and miso soup as it makes her meals more delicious as well as filling.
The foodologist likes to have soup all year round. She sometimes even have it when it’s 90 degrees outside. She prefers broth based soups instead of the creamy ones as they are filling and have fewer calories. Soups are also used by her as snacks or meal starters.
The diva likes to wash down her food with Perrier water. She confesses to having several bottles of it on any given day. She calls it very refreshing.
Quick Meal Idea
Mason Jar Salad
To create this dish, you need to take a small bowl and mix half cup of chopped apples in one teaspoon of lemon juice. Then you need to take a wide mouth, one-quart mason jar and add a half cup each of cucumber and halved cherry tomatoes coated with 2 tablespoons light vinaigrette dressing to it. You need to top it with 1 tablespoon pre-cooked and crumbled bacon, 4 ounces of cooked and chopped skinless chicken breast as well as 3 cups of chopped romaine lettuce.
After you have put all of it, you can keep the jar in the fridge. You can eat it after giving it a shake and putting the contents of the jar in a medium bowl. If you are in a rush, you can eat it right out of the jar too. You need to remember to put all the heavy veggies at the bottom, protein in the middle and lettuce on the top. This will prevent the lettuce from being soggy.
