Lio Rush Facts

  1. Since he was 5 years of age, he aspired to become a professional wrestler.
  2. He did not know about his late brother Lorenzo until his mother told him about him on Lio’s first day of high school.
  3. Lio Rush served as a heel manager for Bobby Lashley during his early days in WWE. He was praised for his role due to his promos.
  4. In 2014, he made his professional wrestling debut under the ring name “LI Green” but after a negative response to the name from promoters, he decided to change it to “Lennon Duffy”.
  5. At the 2014 Tribute to the Legends, he debuted and created a tag team named “Sudden Impact” along with Patrick Clark, who would eventually go on to work for WWE as “Velveteen Dream”.
  6. After defeating Brandon Scott, Drolix, Eddie Edwards, Matt Cross, and Shane Strickland in a six-way elimination match, Lio Rush won the Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup XV on July 18, 2015.
  7. Alongside his teammate Patrick Clark, he won the MCW Tag Team Championship after defeating The Hell Cats and The Ecktourage on October 3, 2015. However, they soon lost the title to The Ecktourage just after 3 days.
  8. He then went on to compete for Evolve Wrestling and defeated Fred Yehi on November 6, 2015.
  9. On November 7, 2015, he was defeated by Ethan Page.
  10. Lio Rush was announced as a participant in the Elite World Championship by Lucha Libre Elite and he went on to beat David Tita on the first day of the Elite World Championship to make the quarter-final on June 23, 2016. He then lost to Michael Elgin on June 25.
  11. At “Only Kings Understand Each Other”, he debuted with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla on February 18, 2017, and was defeated by Ricochet.
  12. He went on to defeat Ken Broadway at House of Glory’s “Adrenaline” on May 27, 2017, to capture the HOG Crown Jewel Championship. With this, he ended Ken Broadway’s almost year-long reign. On July 1, he lost the title to HOG World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Gangone in a title-for-title match at House of Glory’s “Never Trust a Snake”.
  13. Lio Rush released his debut single Scenic Lullaby in July 2019.
  14. He released his debut extended play titled 11:11 on his 25th birthday.
  15. His first studio album Ever After was released on May 11, 2020.
  16. He appeared as a contestant on the 36th season of MTV’s reality competition series The Challenge in 2020.
  17. Lio Rush struggled with mental health issues as a teenager and also during early adulthood. He even had to be hospitalized for some days as a teenager due to issues with his mental health.
  18. He has credited comedian-actor Kevin Hart as one of his influences.
