  1. After completing his studies, Martin joined the New York Daily News at the age of 17 as a staff cartoonist. He continued to work there for 5 years alongside cartoonist Gus Edson for the comic column of The Gumps.
  2. His father tried to rescue his relatives from the Nazis.
  3. He was 22 years old when he decided to devote full-time attention to his theatre performances and quit the New York Daily News.
  4. Martin and actor Steve McQueen were the only 2 of 500 candidates to be selected to join the Actors Studio in 1955. During his time there, he was selected to join Mark Rydell and Sydney Pollack as an executive director at the studio.
  5. Landau was signed to TalentWorks during his active acting years.
  6. He wrote the foreword for the “Tim Burton” biography.
  7. Martin had credited comic actor Charlie Chaplin to be his greatest influence.
  8. He and actor James Dean had become close friends with one another after they met at the Actors Studio.
