  1. He spent his childhood years growing up in Cochin, Kerala, India.
  2. He started his career working as an assistant director in the industry with Siddique Ismail’s Chronic Bachelor (2003).
  3. In 2015, Soubin Shahir appeared as Sumesh in the Malayalam-language romantic fantasy comedy film Chandrettan Evideya. For this role, he was nominated in the “Performance in a Supporting Role (Malayalam)” category at the 1st IIFA Utsavam.
  4. He brought to life the character of P.T Teacher Shivan Sir in the 2015 Malayalam-language coming-of-age romance film Premam, starring Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. This won him the Asianet Comedy Award for “Best Pair” (with Vinay Forrt).
  5. Alongside Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali, Anusree, and Alencier Ley Lopez, Soubin Shahir co-starred as Crispin (a Photoshop expert who designs the flex-boards) in the Malayalam-language comedy-drama film Maheshinte Prathikaaram in 2016. This earned him the North American Film Award for “Best Comedian” as well as got him nominated in the “Best Comedian” category at the South Indian International Movie Awards.
  6. In 2017, he made his directorial debut with the Malayalam-language drama film Parava. The film stars Amal Shah, Govind V. Pai, Shane Nigam, and Dulquer Salmaan and won the Honorary Special Award at the 2018 Asianet Film Awards while Soubin Shahir won the Vanitha Film Award and Asiavision Award for “Best Debut Director”. He was also nominated for a Filmfare Award for “Best Director – Malayalam” as well as the 7th South Indian International Movie Award for “Best Director (Malayalam)”.
  7. He won the All-rounder Award at the Asianet Comedy Awards in 2017.
  8. Along with Samuel Abiola Robinson, Soubin Shahir co-starred as Majeed (a young football coach) in the Malayalam-language sports drama film Sudani from Nigeria in 2018. For this performance, he bagged the Kerala State Film Award in the “Best Actor” category as well as the 66th Filmfare Award South in the “Best Actor-Critics” category.
  9. Alongside Shane Nigam, Fahadh Faasil, Sreenath Bhasi, and Mathew Thomas, he co-starred as Saji Napoleon in the Malayalam-language drama film Kumbalangi Nights in 2019. This earned him a nomination in the “Best Supporting Actor (Malayalam)” category at the 9th South Indian International Movie Awards.
  10. He provided vocals to the character of Karidas/Haridas in the 2023 Malayalam-language adventure-comedy romance film Valatty.
