Suraj Sharma is an Indian actor who rose to acclaim with his performance as Pi Patel in his debut in the 2012 adventure drama film Life of Pi. - Co-starring alongside Irrfan Khan, Rafe Spall, Tabu, Adil Hussain, and Gérard Depardieu, Suraj Sharma made his first theatrical film appearance by playing Piscine Molitor “Pi” Patel, age 16/17, in the 2012 adventure drama film, Life of Pi, based on Yann Martel’s 2001 novel of the same name.
- For his performance in Life of Pi, he won the Saturn Award for “Best Performance by a Younger Actor” and MTV Movie Award for “Best Scared-As-Shit Performance” while he was also nominated for BAFTA Rising Star Award, Critics’ Choice Movie Award for “Best Young Actor/Actress”, NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture”, and Empire Award for “Best Male Newcomer”.
