- From 2000 to 2008, he brought to life the character of Kamal Agarwal in the Hindi-language soap opera Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. This performance won him the Indian Television Academy Award for “Best Actor/Supporting Role” in 2006 and 2008.
- Ali Asgar was cast as Madhu (Rohit’s friend) in the 2002 Hindi-language romantic drama film Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, starring Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel.
