- He based his iconic character of Gutthi on his female classmates from college.
- Sunil received his first break in television from the acclaimed satirist Jaspal Bhatti, who also became his mentor.
- In 2010, he starred as Balu Kumar in India’s first silent comedy series called Gutur Gu on SAB TV.
- He ended his hugely successful stint on The Kapil Sharma Show in 2017 after a much-publicized fallout with the show’s host, Kapil Sharma. According to reports, a drunk Sharma verbally and physically attacked Grover during a mid-air altercation while returning from Melbourne.
