- Growing up, he would often get into trouble with the law and even spent 5 years in prison. During his time in prison, Tommy the Clown realized that he needed to significantly change his lifestyle.
- Upon being released from prison, he began working as a typist clerk until 1992. While working there, a co-worker of his offered him to be a clown at his kid’s birthday party as a result of his entertaining personality and created the persona of “Tommy the Clown”.
- The clowning or krumping style of dance was created by Tommy to enhance birthday party clown acts, which ended up creating the “hip-hop clowns” concept.
- Over the years, Tommy has performed at birthday parties for various well-known celebrities including Madonna, Pamela Anderson, and Cedric the Entertainer.
- It is said that he developed the clowning style of dance as a result of the 1992 Rodney King riots.
