Chris Klein Facts
- His first performance on stage was as a child participating in church choirs.
- His first major expense with the money he earned in Hollywood was to pay for another semester at Texas Christian University since he had taken substantial time off to film his first 2 films.
- In senior year, he was cast as Tony in his school’s production of the musical West Side Story that led his principal to introduce him to the director, Alexander Payne to audition for him when he visited the school campus scouting for filming locations for his next teen movie.
- Chris was arrested for drunk driving in June 2005 for the first time and then again in June 2010. After his 2nd DUI, the actor enrolled in an alcohol addiction program at the Cirque Lodge rehab facility and has been sober ever since.
- He was the only one of the original cast members who did not appear in American Wedding (2003) because Klein was in London filming another project at that time and the film-makers did not have the budget to get him on location for just a few scenes.
- Chris auditioned for the musical-comedy Mamma-Mia! (2008) but did not make the cut because he did not do well. In 2010, his bad audition went viral. In response, the actor sportingly created a parody of bad auditions for funny or die comedy website.
