- At the age of 6, she began acting at the local theater close to her home. In an interview with Swedish Radio, she once stated that the stage was one of few places that truly felt like home during her childhood.
- She was 7 years old when her parents got divorced.
- In 2011, Josefin Asplund made her first theatrical film appearance as Pernilla Blomkvist, Mikael’s daughter, in the neo-noir psychological thriller film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The film stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Christopher Plummer, Stellan Skarsgård, Steven Berkoff, Robin Wright, Yorick van Wageningen, and Joely Richardson.
