- The producers of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils had initially cast actress Liu Tao in the role of Wang Yuyan. However, after 15-year-old Yifei aced her audition, they decided to cast her in the lead role and cast Tao in the role of A Zhu.
- She co-starred as Bai Qian/Si Yin/Su Su in the 2017 romantic drama fantasy film Once Upon a Time. This role got her nominated in the “Best Actress” category at the 9th Macau International Movie Festival.
- She played the titular role in the 2020 American fantasy action drama film Mulan, a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1998 film of the same name. She co-starred in the film alongside Donnie Yen, Tzi Ma, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Ron Yuan, Gong Li, and Jet Li.
