Nirupa Roy was an Indian actor who rose to acclaim with her portrayals of tragedy and sorrow. - Nirupa Roy made her Hindi film debut in the Bollywood film Amar Raj in 1946.
- In 1953, she co-starred as Parvati Maheto “Paro” in the Hindi-language drama film Do Bigha Zamin. The film is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s Bengali poem “Dui Bigha Jomi”.
