1. He got to know about the existence of his biological father during his 8th grade. 
2. Kevin has been in trouble with the authorities time and again. His first arrest came at the age of 13 in 1999, for “joyriding” as a passenger. The incident left a huge impact on Gates and he once said, “If they would’ve just pulled up to the jail, left me in the police car, never took me inside and just took me back home, I don’t think I’d ever have done anything else again. But what it did was—by me going into jail at such a young age—all it did was criminalize me in a sense. It kinda steered me in the wrong direction after getting there and settling in; it took the fear of jail away from me.”
3. In August 2014, Kevin came out with an energy drink called I Don’t Get Tired (#IDGT). He also has a single with the same title.
4. In 2015, he was charged with battery charges for kicking a woman fan in the chest while performing on stage at an event in Lakeland, Florida.
