They parted ways but never got divorced after Bhatt began an affair with Parveen Babi.

During their relationship, Parveen was at the height of her career while Bhatt was struggling following a string of flop movies. Their relationship ultimately ended in 1980 after Parveen had a series of nervous breakdowns, which was later diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenia.
  3. Soni Razdan (1986-Present) – The Zakhm (1998) director tied the knot with actress Soni Razdan on April 20, 1986, in a nikah ceremony (after converting to Islam) since he had not divorced his first wife. The couple welcomed 2 daughters named Shaheen Bhatt (b. November 28, 1988), who is a writer, and Alia Bhatt (b. March 15, 1993), who became a popular Bollywood actress.
