- He was cast as Gallo in the short film Café paraíso in 2008 and this won him the award for “Best Actor” at the Short Short Film Festival in Mexico City.
- He brought to life the character of Carlos Mamani (a Bolivian miner who moved to Chile a decade prior to the events) in the 2015 biographical disaster-survival drama film The 33 (Spanish: Los 33), starring Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, and others.
- From 2018 to 2020, Tenoch Huerta portrayed the character of Rafael “Rafa” Caro Quintero (a Mexican drug lord who co-founded Guadalajara Cartel with Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo and other drug traffickers in the late 1970s) in the biographical crime drama streaming television series Narcos: Mexico.
