Warren Beatty Facts
- His ex-girlfriend, singer Carly Simon referenced him in her popular song titled You’re So Vain in 1972.
- Beatty has received 14 Oscar nominations as of 2019 but has won only once as ‘Best Director’ for Reds. Additionally, he has the distinction of being nominated in 4 different categories (acting, directing, writing, and producing) for a single film twice in Heaven Can Wait (1978) and Reds (1981).
- During the 89th Academy Awards in 2017, Warren and his Bonnie and Clyde co-star Faye Dunaway erroneously announced La La Land as the ‘Best Picture’ winner after having received the wrong envelope. The mistake was rectified soon after and Moonlight was declared as the real winner. The following year, the pair was again invited and successfully awarded the ‘Best Picture’ honor to The Shape of Water without any hassle.
