- He made his film debut in Govind Nihalani’s acclaimed film, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998) in the role of Laltu. His co-stars in the film were veteran actors like Jaya Bachchan and Nandita Das. Moreover, the film was the recipient of the National Film Award for ‘Best Feature Film in Hindi’ in 1998.
- Yashpal was awarded the ‘Best Actor’ award at the Whatashort Independent International Film Festival in 2016 for the Aly Rana-directed short film titled Moksha.
