- She wrote, directed, and starred in the short film Meeting God in 2022.
- She was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer, at the young age of 3 years. She underwent treatment at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and the University of California San Francisco Medical Center over the next several years. B. K. went through countless rounds of radiation and chemotherapy before getting a bone marrow transplant, which was part of an experimental study at that time. The transplant ended up saving her life and has become the standard treatment for neuroblastoma today.
- Following her successful recovery from neuroblastoma, she became a camper and later, volunteer at Camp Ānuenue (Ānuenue means rainbow). After funding was pulled from the facility in 2014, B .K. decided to create the 501(c)(3) organization (making it exempt from federal income tax) and become its director.
- As of 2024, she serves as the coach and director of Camp AÌ„nuenue located on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Camp AÌ„nuenue is a weeklong retreat for young children between the ages of 7 to 18, who have suffered from cancer at some point in their lives.
