  2. From 1944 to 1945, Peter Graves served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. He reached the rank of corporal and was awarded the American Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
  3. Along with Doris Day, George Kennedy, Andy Devin, William Talman, and David Hartman, Peter Graves co-starred as Jason Meredith in the 1967 Technicolor comedy Western film The Ballad of Josie.
  4. He was honored with the Golden Plate Award of the American Academy of Achievement in 1972.
  5. He brought to life the character of Captain Clarence Oveur in the parody film Airplane! in 1980. It stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty.
  6. Peter Graves was hospitalized on March 6, 1984, at Tahoe Forest Hospital for a fractured jaw and other injuries sustained from a fall on an icy Lake Tahoe road the previous weekend. He subsequently received 100 stitches in his lower lip.
