Danica Patrick is an American former professional racing driver who has been the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing, with her victory in the 2008 Indy Japan 300 being the first win by a woman in an IndyCar Series race. In 2008, 2012, and 2013, she was voted the “Favorite Female Athlete” at the Kids’ Choice Award. However, despite her successful career, she has been called a “gimmick” or a “publicity stunt” by some fans for lack of better racing results and has even been compared to former tennis player Anna Kournikova for her lack of on-track success and promotion of her looks.
