Jacob Lofland Facts

  1. He made his first film appearance by playing the role of Neckbone (one of the two teenage boys living near DeWitt, Arkansas who are excited to find an abandoned boat on a small island in the Mississippi River) in the coming-of-age drama film Mud in 2012. His co-stars in the film included Matthew McConaughey, Tye Sheridan, Sam Shepard, Michael Shannon, Joe Don Baker, Ray McKinnon, Sarah Paulson, Paul Sparks, and Reese Witherspoon.
  2. Jacob Lofland secured the part in Mud as the director wanted to find a young actor locally for the part and had casting notices placed in regional newspapers. As a result, Lofland’s mother came across one of them and realized that her son fit every adjective of Neck’s personality description. Lofland also had the boating and cycle riding experience for which Nichols was looking. Subsequently, Lofland sent in an application and secured the part eventually.
  3. In 2014, he was seen as Kendal Crowe (Wendy’s son who grows up thinking he’s her brother) in the neo-Western crime drama television series Justified.
  4. Along with Elizabeth Banks, Boyd Holbrook, Chloë Sevigny, and Josh Lucas, Jacob Lofland co-starred as Owen Briggs in the drama film Little Accidents in 2014. This role got him nominated in the “Best Supporting Actor” category at the Leonardo’s Horse at Milan International Film Festival in 2014.
  5. He brought to life the character of Aris (the first Maze survivor to arrive in the facility from another Maze) in the dystopian science fiction film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in 2015. A direct sequel to the 2014 film The Maze Runner and the 2nd installment in The Maze Runner film series, the film’s lead cast consists of Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Aidan Gillen, and others.
  6. For his role in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Jacob Lofland was nominated for a Young Artist Award for “Best Performance in a Feature Film – Supporting Young Actor (14–21)”.
  7. From 2017 to 2019, he was cast as Young Eli McCullough in the western drama television series The Son.
  8. Jacob reprised his role in the 2018 film Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the sequel to the 2015 film Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and the 3rd and final installment in the Maze Runner film series.
  9. He was seen as Isaac in the 2021 horror film A House on the Bayou.
  10. Alongside Luke Wilson, Vinessa Shaw, Wayne Knight, Jake Austin Walker, Levi Dylan, Robert Duvall, and Martin Sheen, Jacob co-starred as Snoggs in the sports film 12 Mighty Orphans in 2021.
