Faye Marsay Facts
- In October 2015, she was one of the up-coming actors named Screen International’s ‘2015 Stars of Tomorrow’ alongside Joe Alwyn, Barry Keoghan, Charlotte Spencer, Adelayo Adedayo, Charlie Heaton, and several others.
- Faye appeared as Shona McCullough in the 2014 Doctor Who Christmas special titled ‘Last Christmas’. The showrunner Steven Moffat intended to introduce Shona as a new, permanent companion to the Twelfth Doctor and as a replacement to Clara Oswald (played by Jenna Coleman). Coleman had initially decided to leave production after ‘Last Christmas’ however, she had a change of heart during filming and decided to continue with her role. To this end, additional footage reversing her exit had to be shot at the very last minute.
- She is an ardent football fan and supports her home club, Middlesbrough F.C.
- Faye wanted to become a football player as a teenager and was considered a promising attacking midfielder, but her dreams were cut short after she suffered a knee injury.
- She faced some backlash from GOT fans for her appearance as The Waif in HBO’s Game of Thrones as her character on the show torments Arya Stark (played by Maisie Williams) and, at one point, even tries to kill her as she trains to become one of the Faceless Men in Braavos during seasons 5 and 6 of the fantasy show.
- While attending the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Faye was awarded the Spotlight Prize of 2012.
- Her birthday falls on the same day as several celebrities such as Tiger Woods, Eliza Dushku, Tracey Ullman, LeBron James, Kim Taehyung, Ellie Goulding, James Burrows, Patti Smith, Dominic Fike, Meredith Vieira, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Justin Dior Combs, Tyrese Gibson, Matt Lauer, Sean Hannity, Lexi Hidalgo, Rudyard Kipling, Kristin Kreuk, and many others.
- Faye bears a passing resemblance to the actress Evanna Lynch, who played the fan-favorite character of Luna Lovegood in the beloved Harry Potter film franchise.
