  1. She shifted to Mumbai in order to pursue her passion for filmmaking. She eventually started working as associate director for Prakash Jha and assisted the noted filmmaker on multiple films such as Gangaajal, Apaharan, Loknayak, Dil Dosti, Khoya Khoya Chand, and Raajneeti.
  2. In 2011, Alankrita Shrivastava made her directorial debut with the romance film Turning 30. Produced by Prakash Jha, the film stars Gul Panag, Tillotama Shome, Anita Kanwar, Purab Kohli, and Siddharth Makkar.
  3. She wrote and directed the 2016 Hindi-language black comedy film Lipstick Under My Burkha, starring Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra, and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles. The film became a breakthrough film for Indian cinema for its feminist themes as well as its comedic and progressive take on women’s s*xuality, religion, and other socio-political aspects of Indian society.
  4. In 2019, Alankrita Shrivastava made her series debut with Amazon Prime Video’s romantic drama series Made in Heaven which premiered on March 8, 2019. The show’s lead cast consists of Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, and Shivani Raghuvanshi.
  5. She served as the director of the 2020 Hindi-language film Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar. The film was produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms and it also features actors Vikrant Massey and Amol Parashar opposite the leading actors.
  6. Alankrita Shrivastava co-wrote and co-directed the drama streaming television series Bombay Begums which was released on Netflix on March 8, 2021. It stars Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur, and Aadhya Anand.
  7. She worked on the Hindi-language romantic comedy anthology Amazon Prime Video series Modern Love Mumbai which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on May 13, 2022. Based on the American anthology series Modern Love, it stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pratik Gandhi, Bhupendra Jadawat, Ranveer Brar, Tanuja, Meiyang Chang, Naseeruddin Shah, Sarika, Danesh Razvi, Masaba Gupta, Ritwik Bhowmik, Chitrangada Singh, and Arshad Warsi.
